Dynamic Applications take IT monitoring to the next level by automatically applying pre-defined monitoring templates - included in the system or customer-built - to display real-time performance, availability and configuration information on-screen and in graphs and reports.
EM7 Dynamic Applications may be applied to servers, applications, network devices and other data center hardware and software used for storage, environmental monitoring, virtualization, etc - regardless of vendor or operating system. They are built right into the EM7 Meta-Appliances and activated by the Dynamic Discovery process. Through intelligent automation, EM7 is “smart” enough to recognize what’s running on your network and automatically apply monitoring rules, event and notification policies to networked devices. Using SNMP monitoring, XML pages or SQL queries, Dynamic Applications allow customers ultimate flexibility to expand the EM7 monitoring platform to any networked device or application.
Although most EM7 functionality is agentless, the advanced monitoring provided by some Dynamic Applications may require the installation of agents (e.g., WMI) or may use vendor-installed agents (e.g., Dell OpenManage). For example, the EM7 WMI and Windows Advanced agents enable the MS Exchange Dynamic Applications to provide deeper insight into the availability and performance of MS Exchange servers and application. Additional Dynamic Application features include:
